I am changing to a different blog. This blog as been great up until a few weeks ago. Leslie made a new banner for me, and it wouldn't load. Nicole B tried to fix it and had no luck. I guess she couldn't even load a picture for the banner. Other people have tried to help and for some odd reason, no one can get it to work. So I started a new blog:

http://www.ealber.blogspot.com/

Please update your bookmark, reader or whatever else you use to this new blog, I won't be posting here anymore.

Thanks!

So yeah I won't be going to Borics for a haircut today. I'm too chicken! I am much more comfortable going to the same gal I have always gone to, Stacey.
Stacey knows what I like and dislike and she's been cutting my hair for my for so long now that I trust her. That's important, especially for women.
I'm going back home this weekend, so I called Stacey this morning and she's so nice that she is going to cut my hair on Saturday.

thank god! I need a haircut so bad! I am willing to wait for stacey...

Im in BIG need of a haircut. I mean big time!

I used to have a girl that has cut my hair for the last 3+ years. She does such a great job, I loved her!

Well now I need to find someone in the new city Im living.

Two problems:
a) I need a haircut to be super reasonable. I mean no more then 20-25 bucks plus a few dollars for a tip. HA! Yeah right!! just about every salon in Rochester charges between $$40-60. Thats just for a haircut...no shampoo, or styling. Umm No thanks! I mean for a college student that does not have a job at the moment, that just isn't going to fly.
b) Im a little worried about going to a place like fantastic sams, great clips or borics. Im sure the people in there are just fine at what they do, but I have never been to a place like that so I dont know what to think. The upside is that a haircut would be under $20...

Im afraid Im going to just have to bite the bullet. I think tomorrow before my 1:00 class, I will be stopping at Borics and getting a haircut. I think Im going to get a couple of inches cut, just to get the dead stuff off and to start fresh.

Where do you get your haircut? And what is the max/min. amount that you are willing to pay?
Also, have you ever been to a place like fantastic sams, borics or great clips? Was it a good or bad experience? Give me some feedback!

Well SOMEONE I know wanted me to post a picture.

I dont have any pictures to post really. But I did take a picture of myself last night just for kicks.

So here ya go.

Well Im off to class! Have a great day!

My weekend was pretty good. Friday night I had fun watching Bobby's hockey game. They won 4-2. It was an exciting game! Bobby really had some nice passes and he stood his ground....my guy can hold his own when it comes to the hockey puck! After the game we went out for drinks and I got to meet some of Bobby's teammates.

Saturday was great! Bobby came over and we had lunch. Then we made our way out to 3 different malls... Oakland Mall, Somerset Collection and Great Lakes Crossing.
Why did we go to 3 different malls you might ask...
well at Oakland we went to Steve and Barry's for college apparel, Somerset we went there to people watch and we saw a couple outfits people had on that we didn't understand and of course we had a few stores to go to like North Face. At Great Lakes, not only is there a couple outlets but we had dinner at Rainforest Cafe. Which was great...I love the atmosphere and the food. Bobby and I both had great meals, while pretending to be in the rain forest. Although we both were SO tired from all of our mall walking/shopping we didn't really perk up until after dinner. We were starving!

Today I totally relaxed. I didn't shower or get dressed until 2:30. It was wonderful just to hang out in my pj's and have no where to go! I guess it was my way of preparing myself for the upcoming week.

It was a very nice weekend!

Haha, funny thought just came to me.

Did anyone ever watch TGIF on Abc? It was like 2 hours of teen/younger people shows. I dont remember all that shows that were on, but I do remember " Boy meets world" and "Sabrina the teenage witch." Did anyone else watch that or was it just me? : )

Just a random thought.

I am so thankful today is Friday.

This morning I woke up at 5:45am to get ready. I had to leave the house by 7:00 to get to the testing center for my CMA exam. It went well. There was 400 questions, YUCK! But I finished in less then 3 hours. I knew a lot the answers. I know I did good on the Medication portion, I know my meds. so that's a good thing.

The part I had the hardest time with was the insurance. When I took the insurance class my teacher was, horrible and was not a good teacher. Let me tell ya, insurance and all the polices that go with insurance are very hard to learn on your own. It would have been helpful to have a teacher that knew how to teach the subject.

Never the less, I got through that class (last winter) But that was the hardest part for me. The rest of the question were general and clinical questions. I really felt confident in those areas. Working at the hospital for the past 3 years has given me a lot of experience and has helped me with the medical assisting aspect.

* Thanks Mom for encouraging the job at the hospital when I was a senior in high school. And thanks for helping me get there, you and your ways...(she knows A TON of people) *

So tonight, I am celebrating! Im so happy to have that exam under my belt!
Bobby has a hockey game @ 8:30 and I think my friend from OU is coming too with her hubby.( yes I made a friend, her name is Amber) So afterwards Im thinking we're going to go out for a "pop." I'll try to take pictures. Ive been so bad at that lately.

Well thank goodness is Friday!! Hope you have a great night!

Tomorrow I have to get up @ the crack of dawn to get ready to leave for my Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam. Its a long one. 300-400 questions. I have to be there between 8-8:30. I have to leave my house at 7AM.

I've studied. Here and there over the summer, and more this past week. I think either you know the information, you know how to do procedures, know your instruments, know you meds, or you don't.
Im feeling confident that I know the material, at least most of it. I have a huge book of practice questions, I've found out that by reading the question carefully and going through the choices by process of elimination, I know or can figure out the correct answer.

Im still nervous though. Taking this test is not cheap. I want to do well, I want to pass.

Please send good vibes my way if you get a chance. They would be extremely appreciated!

The furnace is broken. Its a chilly 52* in the house right now. Yeah, not cool. Im going to get dressed (its almost 11 and Im not dressed! ha! I love it!) and then go hang out in my car where there is HEAT! I hate being cold, it is not my favorite thing, thats for sure!

We called my dad and he thinks the fan is broken. A repair man is coming this afternoon. Thank God! It was a chilly night last night and I was soo happy to have lots of blankets on my bed. Please pray that the repair man can fix this today.

Something funky is going on with my blog. I can't seem to get it to look right. Leslie made a wonderful banner for me but it wont work.

Please, someone help! My blog isn't lookin so hot. Anyone feeling creative and willing to help do something to fix my blog ? Its starting to bug me!

My mom just got a new car . . . she is soo in love! haha!

Its a Chrysler Sebring Hardtop convertible. Its the coolest car!

The video, its so neat to see the top go up and down because its so different from "normal" convertibles.

P.s. in the video - the dogs bark whenever someone is outside and they are not. Sorry bout' that.

For lunch I had :

Salad with tomato, carrots, celery, and walnuts with a lemon and EVOO dressing and a little salt and pepper. A bowl of pineapple, and a glass of water with lemon.
Later in the evening I had:
A wonderful glass of St. Julian's red table wine.

I have a video to post. The only problem is... I can't remember how to post it!

Someone please help!

I know there's a site you go to and load the video on there. . . I just can't remember what site it is.

Help!

Saturday was sweetest day. Normally Bobby and I dont "celebrate" the so called Halmark holiday. We normally just say happy sweetest day and that's about it.

Well Saturday afternoon when I walked into Bobby's house I was surprised with one of my favorites. . . . 12 yellow roses! Bobby said he did it just because he loves me not because of sweetest day. I was so surprised! He made my day. Thanks again Bobby!!!

Bobby's grandparent's are in town this week...
In this picture you have:
Great Grandma
Nana
Momma
and Reyna.

And one of Reyna Bug ...

So Leslie does have a banner made, it just isn't showing up on my blog. If anyone knows anything about banners and blogspot . . . let me know!

I had a nice weekend. I went home which is always great. I did take some pictures/video of my mom's new car. I'll post those tomorrow.

Im too tired to do a 'real' post tonight. I've got a lot going on tomorrow. I have 2 papers due and a test. So I've been busy this weekend to say the least with homework alone.

Well I better get some sleep. I will post more interesting things tomorrow!

Please forgive me.

My blog is under construction.

Leslie is helping me and we are having some troubles.

Hopefully it will be fixed and looking good soon.

Nicole M. tagged me on her blog. Im supposed to share 7 weird/strange/unknown facts about me.

Here are the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.

1. I absolutely do not like pickles on my hamburger. I dont know what it is about pickles, but I will eat them plain, by themselves, but I will pick them off a hamburger.

2. I try my hardest to "appear" well organized and well put together, but to tell you the truth, so days I feel like Im gonna lose it because I have no idea whats going on.

3. I get distracted easily. There have been some nights were I have gotten really distracted by the computer/tv and other things going on that I my focus quickly moves on to things I shouldn't be doing. I really need to stay focused on things I NEED to get done.

4. If you give me a bowl of popcorn, I will eat the entire thing. No questions asked. Even if Im not really that hungry. Its my down fall. . . .I really enjoy popcorn.

5. I sleep with a fan on, even if its cold outside. It could be 30 below and the fan would still be on in my room. ( I dont know, some people think that's weird.)

6. ...I fall asleep at the drop of a dime. Seriously, if I lay down, within 5 minutes or so I will be asleep. Put me in the car and Im not driving, I will get sleepy and eventually fall asleep. I just can't help it. Car rides make me want to sleep... Bobby hates that when we're driving somewhere far away and I fall asleep. ..

This one time we were driving somewhere that was like 40 minutes away. I worked all day (so did Bobby) well bobby was driving, anyway I had sunglasses on and I fell asleep. Bobby didn't realize it first...He was talking and I hadn't answered his question. . . then he figured it out!

7. I have scars on both my feet. Starting at my big toe straight down. I had to have surgery when I was in high school because I had a severe case of bunions. One summer one foot, the next summer the other. Yeah my summer's weren't really how I wanted to spend them. But my mom and friends helped me to make the best out of it. We went on trips to New Jersey and to see my sister. Went to the movies, ya know fun stuff. * Thanks Mom*

Ok, Im tagging :
Leslie C
Nicole B
Kristin R.

There will be a new look coming soon. Thanks to Leslie!

She's going to fix my banner and a few other things...so keep a look out.

It will be coming soon!

I haven't really done anything today. Its been kinda nice though. There's things I could be doing, but eh its Sunday. It will still be there tomorrow, right??? I watched some TV, went for a walk, talked on the phone with some family, and now I can say I have updated my blog from this weekend. Not too bad.

This week I have things that I really want to get done before the weekend. Bobby's grandparents will be here from Florida and I don't want to have to be writing a paper and reading a book the entire time they are here. So I have some "goals" for this week.

  1. Workout 4 times this week. ( HA! Wish my luck on that one!!)
  2. Write an Agency Paper for Social work. 4-6 pages.
  3. Read "Acts of Faith, the story of an American Muslim, the struggle for the soul of a generation." By Eboo Patel. Has anyone read this?
  4. Read for sociology, bio and political science.
  5. Finish my Bio activity. ( Its almost done, really.)
  6. Study for my CMA certification exam that is on Oct. 24. Im a little nervous about this exam. Its for certification for Medical Assisting. I haven't really looking over things in a while...Im going to have brush up on a few things before the test.

I think those are my main goals. Thankfully I dont have any tests this week.

I forgot about pictures I had from a couple of weekends ago. I went to Flavor Fruit Farms with Bobby, his mom Lisa, and Leslie and Reyna. While Lisa and Les were getting donuts, I got a couple pictures of Bobby with Reyna while they were watching Laura the elephant. . . thought I would share.

Saturday Bobby and I met his cousin Kristin, Leslie and a few others at the Plymouth Apple Orchard. We took some pictures, ate some donuts and drank so yummy cider. It was a beautiful day, warm too. Afterwards we went over to Kristin's apartment ( which was completely decorated) for pizza, jell-o shots with eyeball, worms, and spiders, witch's brew, and a scary movie. Once it was dark, we went on a haunted hay ride. It was a great way to spend a Saturday! Leslie and I decided that Kristin is gonna be the coolest mom one day. She is sooooo creative. Its crazy! Thanks again Kristin!

Yeah, we had fun.... Jade was a vampire!

I talked with the P family today. Starting in January I am going to nanny
Monday - Friday from 1-4. That will be perfect! I will not be spending any gas money, I can just walk right over there. The little boy is so sweet, and well tempered. The pay isn't bad and it will work around my class schedule. Im really excited. Then from now until January, I am going to babysit here and there in the evenings and such.
In fact, I will be going there next Thursday.

Could this have worked out any better ? ? ?

So Im not going to interview for the assisted living job. It will be too much. And doing the nanny thing will be perfect, and just enough.

I met with the social work advisor last week.

Here's the scoop :

Starting the program in the winter is a little different then starting in the fall. If you take the SW classes in the fall, they are during the day. If you start in the winter, the SW classes are in the evening.

I have 4 general education classes left to take. I am planning on taking them online through the community college. It will be a little cheaper and its nice having an online class. I can work at my own pace and can do it right from home.

I have 2 classes I need to take for what OU calls distribution classes. One of them I have to take for the actual program and will count, so really its only 1.

Then there's is the core social work (SW) classes.

Here's my plan : ( I am a big planner!)

Winter 09
1 SW class
Anthropology
2 online Comm. College classes

Summer 1 2009
1 SW class
1 online Comm. College class

Summer 2 2009
1 SW class
1 online Comm College class
1 distribution class

Fall 09
2 SW classes
1 distribution class
Sociology

Winter 10
4 SW classes
( 1 class is my intership, 1 class is a seminar discussion.)

Summer 1 2010
3 SW classes
(1 class is my intership, 1 class is seminar discussion.)

So there it is... that my plan so far.

So here's the latest :

  • About a week ago I introduced myself to a family that lives across the street from me. I will call them the P Family. I went over there because they have a 1.5 year old little boy. And I thought that they may or may not need a sitter/nanny. Well I went over there and it just so happens that they were looking for someone!!! I babysat the little boy, Nick Tuesday. It was great. He is very cute. He's big for his age. His mom told me that he weighed 35 pounds, mind you he is 18 months. I called him "Little Man, Little Guy" All evening. He was super easy going and was ready to go to bed by 7:15. Another thing... Nick goes to bed great, he was asleep within minutes. Im going back next Thursday.
  • It turns out the P Family needs someone to "nanny." They are looking for someone everyday of the week for 3-4 hours in the afternoon. That will be perfect starting in January.
  • Im starting the social work program next semester! I will start in Jan. 2009, and be finished by June 2010. I will post more about the program later. But it doesn't sound too bad. And the best part is that my classes will be in the evening, so I will be able to nanny and make a little extra cash.
  • About 2 weeks ago I went around to a few assisted living places. I went filled out an application and gave them my resume. Well today I had a message asking my to call and set up an interview. So I will be calling tomorrow. I figured I should go, do the interview, see what they are looking for and maybe work there a few days here and there.
  • Classes are going well. So far I have gotten 4.0 and 3.5 on the 4 tests I have taken. I've written 4 papers and have done well on those too. They are keeping my pretty busy. I've got 2 tests this week, and next week will be my catch up week.
  • I've met a few people. Not really "friends" yet more of acquaintances, but its something. A long time family friend Scott lives about 2 miles away and we've hung out a few times. He is like a brother to me. He's helped me get around Rochester and find somethings. So I know someone my age! ha!

Sorry for the LONG post.

I have been feeling a bit swamped lately.

I know its been since october 1st since I posted last. Sorry.

I went home this weekend. That was really nice. I miss home. So it is always nice to go back and see my family as well as Bobby's.

On Saturday we went to the apple orchard. That is always a blast. I have a couple pictures but honestly I don't really have the time to load them and whatnot so it will have to wait until another day. Reyna rode a pony and it was soo cute. At first she didn't seem like she liked it and wasn't sure what to think. But once they pony started to walk, and her Nana, Uncle Bobby and I started clapping and saying Yay Reyna, her little face had a big smile on it was like she realized that it was ok. Very cute.

Sunday I just hung out around the house. Not much got done. I should have been doing things for school but it just didn't really happen. I went home with the intentions of being super productive but yeah, that didn't happen.

So today/tonight Im playing catch up. I have a political science test tomorrow -- not my favorite subject. And then I have a sociology test friday. So wish my luck.

I'll post again tomorrow!

Welcome October!!

I am looking forward to fall.

Do you enjoy/like fall? What do you like about it? Im looking forward to some comments about what you like/dislike!

Here where I live its a gloomy Tuesday. Its starting to really feel like fall. Its cool today, the high for this afternoon is 64. I like the change. I don't think I could live in a state where the seasons never change. Its refreshing!

Classes are going well. I've been super busy. I have to finish a paper today (yes I have another due!) Today I've got class at 1:00 and then the rest of the afternoon will be spent on you know what.

Thursday I am meeting with an academic advisor for social work. I'm hoping to be able to dig right in to my social work classes this upcoming winter. I am going to take 4 more classes at JCC to get another associates - in general studies. So I won't have to take the classes at OU. I can take the JCC classes online as I want to and it will be cheaper, much cheaper. Because I am planning on starting to Social Work classes in the winter, it will allow me to finish earlier. I will take classes through the summer but I will be done in the summer of 2010, instead of starting next fall, and ending in the winter of 2011. That's an entire year! SO I don't really mind taking a couple classes in the summer to finish almost an whole year sooner. Anyway, more about that later!

I better get a couple things done before I have class.

I finally got my papers done and my lab. Thanks to good old Pandora. Playing some good ol' Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and a few others helped my get through it. A little music, and some creative juices, got me going so I finish this stuff. All this paper writing, Im not sure if I like it!

I have another paper due Wednesday, but I think I am going to hold off until tomorrow. No more paper writing for tonight!

I am going to kick back for a bit before I go to bed. I think I deserve it. Its been a long day trying to come up with stuff to write about. I admit, some stuff I wrote was complete bull... I just came up with something to fill the paper. Don't worry, it sounds good.

Hope you have a good night!

My head is spinning. I've written 2 papers so far today and a lab report.

I have one more reaction paper to write on an article I don't even understand.
Great.

Well I better try to get to it. I'm hoping that I can come up with something.

I had the hardest time thinking of a title for this post. Im just not with it tonight. Im so tired tonight. I even took a nap today. Nothing good is on TV tonight, I don't have the motivation to work on the paper, and 2 assignments I have due on monday. So I guess I will be going to bed shortly.

On to something more exciting . . .

Friday Bobby came over before his game. We had dinner, hung out, I helped him with some of hus laundry, played a game and then I went to his hockey game at 10:45p.m. and it started late. I didnt get home until late... we went out for a "pop" as my cousin Bob like to call it. It was a very nice day and I was so happy to see Bobby.

Today was a cloudy, chilly kind of day. All I wanted to do was relax, take a nap and just hangout. And that is exactly what I did. :)

Tomorrow is going to be my catch up on everything I need to get done for school day. Boy, I cannot wait! I better get some sleep so I am well rested.

I am so exciting on a Saturday night, I know. You're jealous! ha!

I need to make some friends my own age.

Crazy . . . its already thursday night. AND Grey's Anatomy was on! I've been waiting for "good" and "new" tv, and its finally here!!! yay! I remember a while back thinking about how the new shows weren't going to start until September 25. And its already here. Time flies too quick.

Its been a busy week. I had a test (4.0!) and a quiz (4.0!!) and a paper due. And I have 3 other things due on monday. So I have been movin along, its kinda nice having stuff due and tests and stuff . . .sad I know. BUT it gives me something to do. Because I have 2 friends here in Rochester. Yes I know another sad thing. But I have found that people at OU aren't all that friendly and really are just there to go to class, get things done and be on their way. Its kinda sucks to tell you the truth. I dont know what to do. I feel super cool hanging out with my 78 year old aunt on a friday night, let me tell ya! Don't get me wrong. . . she's really nice and I like her but Im 21 years old. . . .come on! Ha! So my 2 friends and I will have to start hanging out on the weekends and not just at school.

I did go around to some places and apply for a job. I went to 2 assisted living places and a hospital. BUT the hospital wasn't hiring on-call staff. I really don't want to be committed to a part time position especially at a hospital. So Im going to keep looking. :) Wish me luck!

Tomorrow's friday!!! I've got class and then Bobby is coming over for dinner before hockey!

~Good Night~

Another weekend has come and gone. Weekends go by so fast don't they???

Well on Friday I met Bobby at Buffalo Wild Wings and then went with him to his hockey game. Poor guys lost by one point, but it was a good game, lots of excitement.
Saturday I went to lunch with my Aunt Carol and cousin Tracey and then Bobby came over. We ended up going to Sommerset Collection and did a little shopping. Well sort of, we bought a couple cards and that was it. But I did go into the Vera Bradley store. . . . I really want this in either "yellow bird" or "java blue." So I have had my eye one that.

After walking around the mall, we went to Rochester Beer Co. and had dinner and some good beer. Like Bobby said, "Its hard to drink the normal stuff after you've had to really good beer." The beer there is nothing like Coors or Budlight. It has a better flavor I guess you could say. I dont really know, Im not a beer expert. haha!

So then on Sunday, I went to Canton for this lovely lady's bridal shower. It was a very nice time and it was great to see everyone.

Today I have tackled one sociology test and now I am just hanging out, waiting for my next class to start.

Im just ready for monday to be over with. Its so hard to get back into the normal routine after the weekend. But its nice to breakaway.

I took some pictures!!! I thought some of you would like to see where Im living....
Well there I am...playing around with the camera.

This is my bedroom. Nothing super fancy, but it has been working out well.

Excuse the mess. :)

This is my all blue bathroom. Seriously, everything is blue, even the toilet.

The backyard :

So there you have it. Maybe sometime this week I will take a picture of my Aunt Doris, so you can see who she it too. And I'll take pictures of the front of the house too. Why not, right?

Ahhhhhh I feel a cold coming. I doubt its allergies.

My nose is going from stuffy to runny within minutes, my throat is starting to feel "scratchy" and Im sneezing up a storm.

Just perfect.

Any suggestions? Anyone?

I have pictures to post . . . maybe tomorrow. Im off to bed!

This Internet issue has been bugging me. I need the Internet for all of my classes and its been tricky not having it. I've put in a ton of calls to At&t. Well I just got home a little bit ago and was on hold to speak with someone from At&t. When the thought occurred to me ... unplug it from the phone connector and plug it right into the wall....well ta-da!!!! It works! Yay! So Ive got the internet.

This is my victory for today!

Well the weekend is over and now its back to school life.
This week is a busy one. I've got a paper due and a test, and the same goes for next week too.

My Internet at home isn't working yet, Im in the process of getting that fixed. It seems like getting that type of thing fixed always takes forever. At&t has to come and check the lines or something like that ...I could really understand Jude the guy I talked with in tech support. Thats the crappy thing about calling at&t, or a lot of companies. Their employees don't always speak the best English. So then Im the customer always say, "excuse me, what was that?" or " pardon me, can you repeat that?" or if I really didnt get it, "What?!?" At&t probably doesn't like it when I call. :)

As of right now I am waiting for class. Since the Internet at home is not working, I am taking advantage of the high speed wireless on campus.

The rest of the day will be spent studying and adding the finishing touches on my paper. Then Im gonna have to do it all over again. Yeppie!

Well bare with me Im going to try to post again soon - who knows when the Internet will get fixed.

* Ike is sending the rain to Michigan *
Its been pouring here for hours....
Today is gloomy, chilly and wet.

Going out in the pouring rain is not my favorite. I dislike getting all wet and then being cold. Plus it does nothing good for my hair. :)

But Im meeting Lisa and Leslie at a Greek restaurant for lunch. Then after that I have to pick up a printer for school. OU charges .20 cents a page..for ONE page. That is going to add up fast!

The rest of the day. . . . my nose will be in a book.

I've been having Internet issues, so I haven't posted much. Once I get everything straightened out, I will try to post on a regular basis...that is if people out there are actually reading.

So I came home for the weekend. I have to pick up a printer from Bobby's and to get a few other things taken care of over the weekend. Im just glad its Friday.

Other then getting a few things done, reading some a few things for class, I plan on just relaxing. Its not going to be a very nice weekend, rain - all caused from good ol' Ike.

So on my way home today, there were people lined up at the gas station. What the heck. Well I found out that gas prices might be going up to $5.50/gallon because of the hurricane. That's crazy! What do you think?

I have learned, parking at OU is a zoo. Its nuts. And Wednesday is the worst day out of the week. I have class at 10:40. I left the house at 10 and at 10:20 when I got to the school, people were everywhere. I went to the usual place I've been parking, oh no there wasn't a spot. So I park waaay out. It took me 15 minutes at a fast pace to get to class. Lucky for my my professor had the same problem and was later then I was! Another thing is people here are not good drivers. One girl totally cut me off, she didn't even look.

A second thing I have learned is that most everyone here has money or atleast thats how they appear.... All of the girls here have coach, prada and all the top things. The guys a good number of them wear Northface and I've even seen a guy in Capri's. haha. Looks very funny.

Its definitely different here.

I have a couple pictures to post later.
I'm gonna go eat lunch, before my next class.

So its already 7:45pm on Sunday night. How does that happen?

Anyway. . . .

Here's my weekend re-cap:

Friday: Bobby came over and my aunt made homemade meatloaf, baked potatoes, corn on the cob and coleslaw. She had cherry pie and apple turn overs for desert, but we were all so stuffed there was no way that we would be able to eat anymore! After that, I showed Bobby around OU's campus. He thought it was pretty nice. He had a hockey game at 8:30 and my Aunt Carol and Uncle Lee came as well. Bobby's team ended up losing, but its only the first game of many. So next week its on. After the game we all went to a bar/restaurant for a bite to eat and to visit. By the end of the night I was beat.

Saturday: I hung out and relaxed in the morning and I went on a bike ride around the neighborhood. I have never had a neighborhood to ride my bike in, so I thought that was kind of neat. Later on I drove to Wayne to see Bob and to meet his 3 new roommates, Al, Pete and Ray. They were all very nice. We ended up hanging out and going out to dinner...

Sunday: I went for another bike ride, did some laundry and had dinner with my Aunt. I know... so exciting. My aunt made homemade soup and it was wonderful. To say the least I will not starve while living here, thats for sure! The rest of the night Im going to be getting a few things done for school and just hanging out. I've got to gear up for my long day tomorrow. I have 3 classes and I leave at 10 and I don't get home until 6 (depending on traffic). So I need my rest!

I've started classes. So far, so good. It was intimidating thats for sure. I went the night before ( Tuesday ) to scope out where my classes were and where to park. I found that ok. Wednesday was a long day. I was at the school from 10AM-5:30. Yeah, long day. But I found my classes, and everything went well. I had a lot of down time. But Im sure that once my classes get going down time wont really exist anymore.
So what classes am I taking you may be asking . . .
well ....

Sociology
Human Biology
American Politics
and
Social Work Experience

16 credits all together.

Everything at my Aunt's house is going well. This morning before class she took me down to show me where the Rochester Library is located ( I got my very own card) and we went to a place called "Papa Joes." Very neat little market. They have every single type of fresh produce you could ever think of...and they have amazing deserts. And they have samples all over ! That was great! :)

Let me know that you all are still out there! Leave me some love!

Well Im all moved into my aunt's house. So far, things are going well. Lots of changes. I arrived yesterday and got all situated.

Today I have class all day. I will let you know how that goes!

More later!

Have a great Wednesday!

I didn't say good by to my job at the hospital. I'm still going to be on call staff. But at the same time, it was goodbye. I know that I won't be working there very often. Maybe a weekend here and there and maybe a couple days during the holiday. It will all just depend.

I have been working at this hospital for over 3 years. I started the Monday after my graduation. It was a great start. I was nervous starting there and now I feel like the job is a breeze, Im extremely comfortable doing what I do there. As some have told me, "I've become one of the best." For the last 2 years I have been the person that trained/oriented new Nursing Assistant staff. I've become close with the people that I work with there. It was hard to say goodbye. Hopefully I will be able to work a day here or there to keep in touch. As one nurse Becky said, "Chelsea was a stepping stone to bigger and better things. " I think she is right.

Today was a nice day of work. We had a potluck, and it was wonderful. Everyone brought some good and different to the table. I love potlucks! :) People even chipped in and gave me a small stepping stone. ( How fitting?) They told me it would be one of many. I've learned a lot at Chelsea hospital and I plan on taking everything, all the memories, lessons and friends with me.

Maybe I'm just a little scared. I'm going to have to start somewhere new. I'm not a huge fan of change. I'm a planner, and I need time to adjust to new things. Maybe more time then most. But like my mom says, "its a big new adventure." And that's how I am trying to look at it.

On to bigger and better things...

Like tomorrow . . . Michigan Adventure!

Today my mom, dad and I went to my aunt's and started moving my stuff. We drove over to her house (1.5 hours away) and unloaded a car full of boxes. My mom help my get everything situated the way I wanted it. My sweet aunt made lunch for us, BBQ sandwiches, homemade coleslaw and chips. Plus desert. Its really happening. Im moving there and going to attend OU. Its starting to become a little more "real" and overwhelming. Im nervous and excited at the same time.

Tomorrow is my last day as a part-time employee at the hospital. We're even having a potluck. It will be a bittersweet day I think. Im going to miss some of the people I work with, but its time to move on. I am keeping my foot in the door though. Im going to stay as a contingent employee and work occasionally, so I think that will be good. I will let you know how my last day goes!

This morning I met up with Lisa, Leslie and Reyna and we went to a place called The Blueberry Patch. We all wanted to go blueberry picking before the season was over. Lets just say we almost didn't make it, because the season is going to be over within days. Next year I would like to go earlier in the season. Im not sure if it makes a difference or not but today the berries we on the smaler side. So I'll have to go again! Reyna had a fun time, we all did! I bet we ate our weight in blueberries. Leslie forgot her camera so I took some pictures for her.
Enjoy!

P.s. Leslie, I have some more pictures, I will email them to you later! :)

It's almost Friday, thank goodness! Its been a long week. I've been working all week. Which is good. But it has been crazy, super busy at the hospital. Our unit is full to the max. Meaning I am running my butt off. I even went to bed early . . . I was in bed by 9:40. That does not happen very often, but I think it will be happening again today. My back/neck ache and I am looking forward to stretching out in my bed. I only have 2 days left to work at the hospital. Tomorrow and next Tuesday.

I have been thinking about what type of job I would like to get once I move. Any suggestions? I am taking a full load of classes, so I only want a few hours a week. Lets say less then 20.

Options:

  1. Doctor's office - I would like to use my degree that I just earned. But the only issue with working for a doctor's office is time. 8-5. And I have 2 days where my classes go until 5 and 3 days where Im at school until 2ish. So Im not so sure that will work.
  2. Urgent Care Center - I've looked online and there's a good number of urgent care places. . . which might be nice because they will have later hours.
  3. Nanny - If I could find a family that needed someone after school a couple days a week, that would be perfect!
  4. Waitress - I think I would be a damn good waitress. :) So maybe something like that.
  5. Something on campus. I am going to have to look at some on campus jobs. Im not really sure what OU offers.

So who out there worked while going to college?

Where are some places that you have worked? Did you like it?

What has been your favorite job so far?

Let's get some feedback!

Hi. I know many of you order your pictures online.

What are some of the sites you use?
I have a TON of pictures I need to print before I go scrapbooking.

Help please!

Thanks, Im off to bed. Im beat from all that camping/fresh air.

On Friday night at last minute( 9:39p.m.) my best friend Lindsey called to get me to go camping with her and her family over the weekend. I was hesitant about going. I've only been one other time. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time but I had only been once so I wasn't so sure about going again. Well Lindsey talked me into it. And Im so glad she did. We had a blast! I knew we would . . We went about 1 hour north of Grand Rapids, to a town called Newaygo.

All day Saturday we spent the day on the lake tubing and just coasting around.

This was our campsite. And all of Lindsey's family. We had a huge dinner on Saturday night....fish ( that we caught that morning! YEP, thats right I went fishing!), hamburger's, BBQ chicken, corn on the cob and pasta salad. YUM-O!!! Saturday night we just hungout around the campfire, had some drinks, laughed a ton and maybe even drank too much!!! haha!

The picture of the 3 girls is Lindsey's sister Christina, me and Linds. We were cheezin'! :)

Me being silly!

Today after we all got up and packed up, Lindsey and I made our way to South Haven. We had some lunch at a place downtown on the water, and hung out at the beach. I even got a little pink from the sun! SO relaxing!

A little background history. . . . . . . .

*Lindsey and I met at Chelsea Hospital. She was there when I started and was finishing up nursing school. We've become best friends and she is awesome. Tons of fun and I can totally be myself with her, which I love. I dont think I have had a friend where I can just be me. So we try to hang out when we can. But we both have different schedules for work/school.( she doesn't work at chelsea anymore so we dont' see each other as often) So when we DO have a chance to hangout we always have a blast! *

UNDER CONSTRUCTION...

THIS WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW!

This afternoon I picked blackberries from our yard, sat on the deck and read my book while thoroughly enjoying the blackberries and a glass of iced tea. Wonderful!

Check out these berries . . . The berries are bigger then you thumb. The are huge, juicy and delicious!
And these are beautiful . . .

Maybe about 2 weeks ago we found a stray kitten. Well we've decided to keep the little guy. He's been living in the barn, and I named him Joey. He is very, very sweet. And he is unique. He has thumbs! In the pictures you can seem them. Have you ever had a cat with thumbs? :) Cooper just loved him. Every time Cooper goes outside he goes straight to the barn. Now Joey is getting braver and is venturing out of the barn. Cooper and Joey chase each other around the yard.
Too cute!
