I am now a TA (Teacher's Assistant) at Sylvan Learning Center.
Here's what happened :

If you've been reading, you know that I wanted to get a second small part-time job, so I would get some extra hours of working all because Im saving all my pennies for an apartment.
Well about 5 years ago I got a job at Sylvan. Now, you are probably asking how the heck did that come up...??? Well I went to Sylvan as a student because I had severe test anxiety. Well after I finished, the lead teacher Catherine called and asked if I would like to be a TA. So I did it, and I loved it! Well anyway Im rambling... I went yesterday to talk to Catherine and to see if she would be interested in hiring me again to work as a TA. It turned out, that she was looking for someone !!! How crazy is that! AND the days that she needed a TA, just so happened to be the days I wanted to work!!! It's amazing how that turned out.
The other awesome part is that I don't have to start until September. Which is great because the entire month of August, I have something happening every weekend. Plus it will give me a few weeks to adjust to my fall classes.

So to sum everything up, I got the job!!!! And Im pretty excited about it!

My weekends just seem to fly by! Do yours do the same???

Lets see what did I do...

Friday: I went job searching most of the day. Nothing too exciting. I just got some applications. Im still not so sure about some of the places. I just want to have a small extra part-time job. One that I can work week nights. Being a Waitress is more of a weekend kinda thing.

Saturday: I worked. YAY!! I worked! Saturday was only my second day of working for the week. So I was very happy to work! Afterwards, I went to Bobby's. He took my out for dinner at Red Lobster, and to see the new Harry Potter movie. It was a fun night!! Thanks again babe!

Sunday : I went to church. Hung around the house. Went to Bobby's to play some hard core tennis. Haha.

So it was a good weekend, pretty relaxing. It just went by so quick, like always!!!

As for today... I am going to go to Sylvan Learning Center. As many of you might not know, I worked there when I was in high school. My junior and senior year. It was a great job. I loved it! I worked as a Teacher's assistant. I would prepare lessons for the student that came in for tutoring and I also did a little office work. Well, I had to leave because of all the senior events that were going on. But I left on good terms . . . .So I am thinking Im going to find out if they need a TA, and if they would hire me back. Wish me luck! Then after that I have to stop at good ol' Meijer, and then Bobby and I are going to go play some more tennis!!!

Tonight my Aunt Carol and Uncle Lee came to our house for dinner and to play cards. Its been a very enjoyable night. They came around 5:30, and Bobby came after he got out of work. My mom and I prepared a Turkey on the grill ( which was sooo good), potato salad, and corn. And we had cake for desert. It was a great dinner. After we were through with dinner, we took some pictures outside, then Bobby and I slipped out to play a quick game of tennis. Now my parents and Aunt and Uncle are playing cards. Its so nice to see them for something other then a funeral. ( We just saw them Friday for Uncle Dick's funeral. ) Its been a fun night.

In the summertime I like to wear skirts. I'm not a real big shorts person. I own ONE pair of jean shorts. I really only wear them if it is soo hot that they are the coolest thing to wear. Otherwise I like to wear skirts or a pair of jeans.

If you wear jeans, where do you buy them from? Do you prefer to pay 1oo bucks for really good pair of jeans? Or are you the type of person that likes to spend 20-40 dollars and get two pair?

Im trying to find my perfect pair of jeans, and I have yet to find them. I haven't gone and spent 100 bucks on jeans, not that its a bad thing. I just dont have the budget to do so.
Do you have any hints on how to find the perfect jeans? Or any store that you have found really great jeans?

So I have spent tonight making cards. Birthday cards to be exact. I haven't ever made cards before and I was feeling crafty, so I thought I would give it a try. I must admit, I enjoy making cards. I made four, each different and they have envelopes to match. They may not be the best cards every hand made, but this was my first attempt at them. Perhaps I will get serious about card making ? ? ?

WARNING : This post might put you to sleep. This is going to be a bitch post....Im venting.

This week I have worked ONE day, that one day was today actually. I won't be working tomorrow, or this weekend more then likely. At the hospital the surgeons all have meetings and conferences. Which really Blows. Today on the Ortho/Rehab unit, there were 5 patients. That's right, *FIVE!* Now remind you I am the kind of person that likes to be busy, it makes the day go by so much quicker! It pisses me off in a way that there were only a couple surgeries this week. But then again there isn't anything anyone can do about it. The doctors are required by law to attend a certain number of conferences. But still...... I have bills that need to be paid, I have expenses. So I have been thinking about getting a second job, or something from like 4:30 till whenever.
I start classes on August 20th. The amazing thing about that is I only have class on Monday
9-12 and 6-9 and Tuesday 9-12. The 4th class is an open entry, open exit class. So I have the rest of the week to work. Leslie and I talked about having me watch Reyna one day a week and Lisa would watch Rey one day a week so Leslie could get back into subbing. So I would work at the hospital on like maybe Thursday and Friday till 3:30. SOOOooo I thought maybe some sort of extra job would work. What do you think? Any suggestions out there? I could use a little advice. Any input??? Ha.

Okay, well anyone long story short, I haven't worked much, Im pissed about not making any money and I need some ideas for a second job.

One thing that I don't understand is why textbooks are so darn expensive. I just spent over 200 dollars for 5 textbooks. That's horrible! I would much rather spend the money on something else! Hhahaha. I just can't believe that prices they charge for textbooks. Its crazy!
Oh well, I guess there are worse things.

Well, I have half of my to do list complete. I am going to get ready to go workout and play some tennis with Bobby. We have been trying to play everyday. So far, this is day 3. Hopefully we stick with it. I really enjoy playing, and he is a fun person to play with!

• Make a return at Target.
• Get pictures developed.
• Workout
• Meet Bobby to play tennis.

I am stuck. I would like to change/update my blog. But Im a little lost on how to do it. Anyone out there with some advice on what to do, in order to change my look???? I would love some HELP!!!

My Mom and I set off on our journey bright and early Sunday morning. It takes about 9.5 hours to get to my sister's new house they are almost fully moved into. We arrived Sunday night, saw the new house, got some ice cream and then drove the last hour to their old house. On Monday and Tuesday Mom and Tarra ( my sister) worked on the new house. Their goal was to completely clean and stock the kitchen. Lets just say after hours of scrubbing and cleaning, moving all the pots and pans, putting away all the food, they finally met their goal. While they were working their tails off, the girls and I had some fun. We went to the parks in the town, played outside, watched movies, did our hair and nails...lets just say we were pretty busy. We got lots of ice cream. I think that we ate ice cream every single day we were there.

The girls loved it!

On Wednesday, we celebrated! We had an un-birthday party for everyone! It was my mom's idea. My mom and I rarely ever get to be there for each girls' birthday. So we had one big party. Each one of the girls got a party dress. They were sooooo cute! Then us four adults got a little something too. Then we sang happy birthday to everyone and had cupcakes. It was a really great time and everyone really enjoyed the celebration.

I am getting myself ready to hit the gym. I have been wanting to workout since last week. I have just been gone and too busy to get there. So this morning I am gonna go! I'm kinda pumped about it. Then Bobby and I are going to play some tennis. So I will be all warmed up and ready to take on the Champ. Haha.
Later tonight, I think the girls and I are going out. It should be fun...

I still need to post pictures from my trip. Maybe I will do that later!

A quick thought for Thursday.

Classes are going to be starting up soon. August 20th to be exact . Where the heck did summer go? I think that because I'm working 40+ hours a week (normally) that it just makes the summer go even faster.
Bobby's classes at Wayne State don't start until September 4th. I'm not dreading him leaving. I just *know* that things will be very different. Bobby and I spend a lot of time together. In the 2 years that we've been dating, we've gotten to the point that we aren't just boyfriend and girlfriend. Its more then that. We like to do a lot of things together. And Bobby and I both know when we have spent a little too much time together. I think that since he decided where he was going to go and what he was going to do, that I have been trying too hard to spend as much time as possible with him, like I'm trying to bank it up, even though I know Wayne State isn't even 2 hours away. I love him unconditionally, but I have to remember that I am not the only person that loves him. Like I said, I'm not dreading the day, I just think it will be a hard transition.
Anyone been there and know what Im trying to say?

So my Mom and I just got back about an hour ago from our trip to see my sister in Iowa. It was a really nice time. Busy. That is for sure! I have lots of pictures to share, but there is no way Im going to mess with that right now... :)
I'm Pooped. Our car broke down which is a loooooong story, and so I will fill you in with all the details later.

Anyway...

Today is Bobby's 21st birthday! Its sooo hard to believe that he's 21. Sometime I swear its like we are still 18 and just have met. Its crazy that he is now 21. Happy Birthday Babe! I love you.

Okay so I am gonna go get a much needed shower and go to bed.
I am going to have a very long, hard day tomorrow, Uncle Dick passed away Wednesday and his funeral is tomorrow. I am trying to prepare myself for what I will feel like when Im there, but I just can't get myself grasp the idea. Like I said, tomorrow is not going to be an easy day.

My Uncle Dick has been living with Alzheimer's for a few years now. My family just got word last night that hospice has been brought in to help. I hate this stupid disease!! Its horrible. My heart goes out to those who have Alzheimer's. My Uncle Dick has slowly become someone that is the complete opposite of who he once was. Alzheimer's has stolen away my Uncle Dick. I hate it! The only thing that I can be thankful for is that he has probably forgotten the pain that he is feeling. Do you know anyone with Alzheimer's??? It isn't easy.
Seeing my Uncle Dick at Christmas was very hard. He was quiet and barely spoke. It was like he had forgotten how to form the words and get them to come out. He just sat there. Quiet. With a look on his face that I can only describe as Lonely. It breaks my heart.
I really wish that people with all the money in the world, would help by doing something useful with it. Like finding cures for diseases like Alzheimer's. Instead, money gets spent on material things that will mean nothing to them in a few months. That really bothers me. I wish people cared about other people. Its sad. It has been so hard watching my Uncle go through all this. I wouldn't wish it on anybody.
Today, I got to Bobby's after work, walked in the door, set my things down and just started bawling my eyes out. I just couldn't help it. I hate the idea of my Uncle Dick not knowing whats going on, who I am, or where he is. Uncle Dick always used know what was going on and was always with it. Its soo hard to see him as anything but that.
I remember when I was a little girl and he would call me his Left handed hitter. Because Im left handed, and played softball. My Uncle Dick loved sports. He just always seemed so proud.

So to my Uncle Dick, I will always be your left handed hitter. And you may have forgotten me, but I will never forget you. I love you.

Today, my mom and I are going to go to the salon together to get our hair cut, and then we are going out to lunch and then we have a few errands that we need to get done. I love going on little day dates with me mom. We are both really busy and don't get to spend a ton of time together. So I am looking forward to today. Hopefully I can take a few pictures!

Then this is where I need you to wish me luck...

After Mom and I go out, we're coming back home and I am going to take Cooper to the groomer. He has NEVER been! I think he'll be okay... he's just going for a haircut, nothing else. But he really needs it. His hair on his paws has gotten sooo long and his ears could use a trip. So wish me luck as I take my puppy to the groomer's for the first time!

Yesterday I went with Rocky, Lisa and Bobby to see Bobby's two uncles, John and David. His Uncle John was in town for the weekend, so we had a little cookout. And the Blue Angels were flying at Willow Run Airport so we got to watch those too. It was really neat. Those planes are sooo loud but they are still sneaky! Its crazy! Later on in the day, Jade, Leslie and Reyna showed up too. Sorry, I don't have any pictures from the day. I need to get better at taking pictures!! But anyway, we all had a really nice time just sitting around and hanging out. It was a very relaxing day.

12 Days Until I get to see my Sister!!!

The count down has begun!!!

I have been a slacker! But to tell you the truth, I just have not felt like getting on this darn computer. Between work, and doing fun things in this wonderful summer weather, I get home and settle down, I just don't have the energy or desire to turn on my laptop. I'm sorry for my delay in blogging!!! I really have been busy. This past week, I worked a lot, including this past Saturday and Sunday. And most days after work I would try to make plans to see Bobby in some fashion. My weekend was good. But when I have to work both Saturday and Sunday, it is very limiting on what we can do with the evening. I like to get home by 11ish so I can get some decent sleep. So on Friday Bobby and I went to dinner with Tom, Ashley and Dan and then we all hung out at Ashley's place for a bit and by 10:30, we were leaving. And for Saturday my cousin's open house was in Troy so Bobby met me in Chelsea after work and we drove there. Stayed for a bit then came back to Jackson. Doing just that made me feel exhausted. So like I said, working the weekend makes the night pretty limited on what we can do. So this weekend wasn't too exciting. Although it was very nice to see my family at the open house. We don't get to see each other very often, so sometimes I feel like we aren't really that close. Sometimes things feel awkward because none of us really know each other. And thinking back on it, Im closer to most of Bobby's Aunt's and Uncles then I am my own. But moving on....

Today Bobby and I went and played some tennis. OH MY GOD, does my tennis game need some work! I haven't played in such a long time, I probably forgot how to even hit the stupid ball. Haha. Thank heavens Bobby puts up with me!!! I swear, I was hitting the ball all over the place. Poor guy, he sure did get his exercise for the day...he was running all over the court. I think we are going to try to play a little tennis more often, at least once a week. Which will be great. I used to love playing in high school, so I am hoping it all comes back to me soon!

Did I mention that I am still scrapbooking??? I even worked on a layout tonight. I just do a little here and there... its coming a long. I realized tonight that I need to take more pictures. I need to just have my camera with me so I remember to take pictures!!!

I have tomorrow off. A much needed day off. :) I am going to sleep in and then I am meeting my friend Aaron out at Lake Columbia to go out on the boat. I am really looking forward to it. Aaron goes to Huntington University so it isn't very often that we get to just hang out and relax. I will be sure to take pictures!
And then tomorrow night : FIREWORKS!!! Yay!!! I love fireworks!
