I only have 2 days left of my externship!!!
Tomorrow and next Thursday ( we are having a pot luck that day, that's why its not Monday.)

The doctor has been out of the office all week on vacation. So I have been working on my blood drawing techniques. Its been going very well. I have got it down.

Its a great feeling. Im not nervous doing it anymore either. Something about doing it makes me feel good, and I have had good number of patients say that they didn't even feel anything. It makes me feel good.

:)

Drawing blood tomorrow is my task tomorrow, that and answering the phones. I used to be nervous doing that to.

I guess the more you do something, the easier it gets.

My mom's big saying is, " Brain surgery is easy, if you do it everyday." I can remember her always saying that when I thought I couldn't do something. She still says it to this day.

So I've seen a few people follow Jen's blog . . . .

I thought it was neat.

I only have 4 more days before I am FINISHED with my externship!! Woo hoo!! I am very excited. Let me just state for the record. . It has been very, very hard working for free and also its been hard paying the school to work for free. That totally bites. I will have completed 232 hours. I had to have 225. Im very excited to be done. Can you tell??

Im going to keep my part-time position at the hospital until the end of August. After that I will be considered "on-call staff." There is no way I will be able to work at the hospital and go to school at OU. Its about an hour away from where I'll be living. So I am going to need to find a job cl loser to where I will be. Wish my luck. Im planning on waiting a month or more until I get adjusted to all the changes.

Well that's it for now. I posted twice tonight...did ya notice? :)

This past weekend was crazy busy!

Bobby's 22nd birthday was on Saturday.

On Friday I surprised him by taking him out to Bufalo Wild Wings in E. Lansing to meet up with some friends. I totally forgot my camera.. But Tom, Ashley, Dan, Lonni, Brian, Lindsey, Christina and another Dan all met up with us. It was a lot of fun. We all sat around talked, joked, and just got to catch up with one another. It was great. We all had a couple drinks and just relaxed.....I think we all really needed it!

On Saturday, it was raining. Bobby and I were going to go wine tasting. But we decided to hold off because of the rain. Instead we took a nap :) went to Finley's ( if you go there on your birthday they give you a free dinner! How sweet is that!?!? ) And then cuddled up on the couch and watched a movie. Bobby's parents/sister we gone for the day at a birthday party. So we planned to "celebrate" on Sunday.

Sunday was a hot one. . . I went over to Bobby's house and from there we went to a couple local wineries. We tasted some wines, and bought a couple bottles! ;) After that we went back to the house, and I helped his mom make dinner. We made BBQ ribs, baked sweet patatoes, and corn on the cob. I was the one working the grill...man what a hot job. It was 90* outside and I was burning up. So after dinner all went to the C's pool and took a dip. It felt sooo good. We finished the night with yummy chocolate silk pie.

I was horrible about taking pictures this weekend. I did manage to snap a few on Sunday after dinner.

The birthday boy!!!

Reyna was diggin' her slice of pie!

Uncle Bobby and Reyna... she was wiped out!

Mom and I got back home from Iowa on Thursday in the afternoon. That's a long drive...10 hours... I drove most of the way too because my mom's back was bothering her. But it was no big deal.

I was on-call today, and that is nice. I got to sleep in a little and just relax and hangout before my work week begin back up. Did I mention how much it really stinks that for my externship I get in about 35 hours a week and I don't get paid.... lets just say money is tight. The good news is that I only have 77 hours left to do! That means I have less then 2.5 weeks left to do!!!!! YAY!! I will be done working for FREE by the end of July! Thank you God! :)

Soo today I am going to work on some homework, relax, enjoy the wonderful weather we are having today and just take it easy. I hope I haven't forgotten how to do that! ;)

Have a great Sunday afternoon!

We went to the Zoo....

We made homemade chocolate chip cookies...

Celebrated the 4th of July ...we went to a party, a parade and fireworks!

Tomorrow Mom and I are driving them back home to Iowa.

So last weekend I went to 2 weddings. Bobby was in one. It was a busy day. One wedding was at 1, and the other was at 4. The first wedding was the daughter of my dad's best friend Larry. And the other was a couple Bobby and I are friends with, Bobby has known them forever.

Tis' the season for wedding bells. I took a few pictures from the long day.

On Tuesday we went to Cedar Point. Oh my word..we had so much fun. We didn't tell the girls where we were going or what we were doing so they kept trying to guess on the way there. Its takes about 2.5 hours to drive to Sandusky, Ohio from out house. So the entire way we heard guess like the zoo, sky diving, swimming, swimming with dolphins, the park, McDonald's, tons and tons of silly guesses. When we got closer I told the girls to keep their eyes open for anything that looked fun and exciting. Once they saw all the roller coasters they started screaming....

A picture before the journey....

We got there, had lunch and then made our way into the park. First thing they all wanted to do was ride the Merry-go-round. Next was the Farris wheel. Then we spilt into groups. Mom took Lauren and Morgan on the smaller rides and I took Hannah and Marissa on the bigger things.

Here's Lauren and I waiting in line . . . . .

Today we went swimming ... it was kinda cloudy, and the water was freezing but the kids didn't care one bit... I hardly even phased them....

My mom found this really cute ice cream sundae dishes at a garage sale...
So everyone has been having an ice cream sundae just about every night. The girls are lovin' it!
