Anyone know a thing or two about puppies???

Here's the problem....

Cooper is a very loving dog. When someone comes home or starts to pet him, get get really excited and he pees a little bit. Well, sometimes its a little bit and sometimes its a lot...Now Cooper is a small dog and has a small bladder...and I have started to pick his water up at night around 7:30, 8ish...And I have punished him for peeing out of no where. BUT I really don't think that he can help it. So when I punish him, I feel bad because I don't think he's doing it on purpose.

Any ideas or advice as to what I should be doing??? I would really really appreciate any help given!

    hey!

    you are right, you shouldn't punish him... that could just make it worse. he sounds like a submissive dog - which is great, because that means he wants to please you and make you happy! i think you are just supposed to be calm and not try to excite him very much when you get home. here is some info about the problem:

    Just catching up on your blog. Always love it. Sorry about Cooper peeing, but it isn't unusual for some dogs to do that. Don't know what to do about it but good luck.
